this could be intersting. we may do it not too far.

The new profile model allow to do just that. create a profile where the user has 
user rights for all modules expect for calendar (where he can have more rights)
You may want to enhance your "user" profile to make it have add/modify right 
only on calendar module : in your obm_conf.inc add this line :

$profiles["user"] = "1101010303030305030303030303030303030303030303030303030303";

fo more info look in the file obminclude/phplib/obmlib.inc, class OBM_Perm

This can't be done now.
